Rotary club Jhajjar organized a Breast cancer screening camp at Jhajjar on 28.5.17 in association with civil hospital Jhajjar under the chairmanship of Dr. Ramesh Dhankar, civil Surgeon Jhajjar. Sh. Manish Grover ji, corporation and urban development minister was the chief guest. I was the special guest of honour on this occasion.

The mobile mammography van on wheels is the man fully equipped with latest mammography machine CR system and provision of doing PAP smears also. The staff is highly skilled & competent. At least one mammography requires 20-25 minutes, so in a day, maximum of 25 women are screened.

The incidence of breast cancer is increasing and due to life style changes late marriage and late child birth, more & more women of between 30 and 40 yrs. Of age are getting affected.

The awareness to know about the disease is the first slip to curb down the rising incidence. The second important step is to do mass screening and detect these cases early. Screening can be done by such community camps being organized at a more frequent level. Self Breast Examination of women at home every month can also go a long way to detect the disease.

This great initiave was taken by Rotary club Jhajjar and I congratulate the President Sh. Ramesh Rohilla and Secretary Sh. Mukesh chawla on taking this great noble step. Preventive step are a must to make our women disease free and I request women to avail the opportunity of such services.
